About Us
In the early 1960s, a dream became a reality. The dream had been that a missionary group of doctors at home on furlough or extended leave could work in association with a group of committed Christian physicians in practice in the United States who were interested in medical missions and called to short-term involvement.
From a small start of six doctors, two surgeons, and four family practitioners, the Southwestern Medical Clinic has grown to a group of over 80 physicians at home and, at one time, as many as 12 serving overseas. The missionary physicians are from varied mission boards.
